Where to find the best gluten free cakes in London

Although we always have more than enough cake going around the office, I’m always keen to see what other treats London has to offer (any excuse to enjoy some cake)! With a major sweet tooth, I’m rarely found without a biccy bom in hand (or at least in my handbag) but these are a few places I know I can pop into and without being disappointed. These places all have at least one item on their menu that is both gluten-free and vegan, whilst also using natural sugars and no ingredients I can’t pronounce!

Detox Kitchen

This is such an amazing space to enjoy a smoothie and a piece of cake while doing a bit of work or meeting friends. Their counter is bursting with freshly baked goodies which are constantly changing. They also have an amazing selection of savoury food as well, so a two-course meal should definitely be on the cards!

Pearl and Groove

Run by three gorgeous gals Pearl and Groove is the ultimate cake stop on Portobello Road. Not only are the cakes gluten-free but also they are flourless and the range of flavours is mouth-watering. My favourites are the Zesty Lemon and Apple and Cinnamon.

Mr Prempy’s

The perfect slice for on the go cake-eaters. These are available from a number of big shops, so you don’t have to travel far! My favourite so far is the chocolate because…chocolate! These raw cakes are so delicious and creamy with the perfect nutty base.

Primrose Bakery

A little too close to the office for comfort, this place is delicious! Not all of the cakes are suitable for me to eat but the quinoa and cacao cupcake is and it is something to remember. The perfect treat to take up the hill and watch the sun set.

It’s back and it’s better than ever with fridges packed full of goodies ready to be taken away and a delightful and calm seating area. But best of all the menu is still filled with the most delicious cakes…what could be better! Using only natural and organic ingredients Tanya’s really is a special little spot and their cakes are so so yummy!
